The first motion lava lamp was designed in 1963 by an
engineer, Edward Craven Walker, who sold it under the
name Astro Lava Lamp. That lucky guy found that by mixing
a little of this and a little of that, you get a uniquely hypnotic
light, which has made Lava brand motion lamps a worldwide
phenomenon.

In 1965, two American entrepreneurs saw the lava lamp
displayed at a German trade show and were in awe at its
beauty. They bought the rights to manufacture the lava lamp
in North America. The Astro lava Lamp was brought to the
USA, renamed the Lava brand motion lamp and production
took off in Chicago.

From haphazard invention to cultural icon, Lava brand
motion lamps have held a place in the hearts of generation
after generation. To this day, Haggerty Enterprises, Inc. is
the only manufacturer of the true Lava brand motion lamp.

Lava brand lamps are the original. For 40 years, Lava Brand
Lamps have captivated generations with their trademarked
shapes and timeless styles. Don't accept substitutes. Demand
the original…the registered Lava brand lamps.

1965 - Wow! Groovy lava lamp, man!

In the mid-sixties, Lava lamp invited a generation to turn on
their Lava brand lamps. The introduction of the Century lava
lamp brand motion lamp started it all. Originally sold as the
Astro lava Lamp, with its large gold base and tiny holes, it
produced a simulated starlight that was definitely far out.

1975 - Lava Lamp? Dy-no-mite!

If you had one of these lava lamps, you were most likely the
hippest cat on your block. The Consort Lava lamp brand
motion lamp was designed with a "Masculine flavor... perfect
lava lamp for the study or den, so right for the executive
suite." No doubt that the Consort lava lamp was a boss
expression, satisfying those looking for relaxation or just
wanting to hang.

1985 - Way cool lava lamp. Totally Lava.

When Lava Lamp unveiled the "New for the 80's Rainbow 200
series of Lava Lamps," they sure made a lamp fashion
statement. Available in coordinated colors and then-new Sun
Gold lava lamp, the Aztec model lava lamp was made
available in four base/cap color combinations and was the
perfect way to chill out.

1995 - Lava brand lamps are STILL the bomb.

Through the 90's and into today, the Lava Lamp Brand
continues to prove that the primordial ooze that once ruled
our world has been captured in perpetual motion.
